Facilities Management have announced 3 upcoming power outages:
1. April 29th, 2022, 6:00 p.m. to April 30th, 2022, 12:00 a.m. (6 hours) 2. May 14th, 2022, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (16 hours) 3. May 28th, 2022, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (16 hours)
Outage 1 on April 29, 2022 will require the HH data center to be fully powered down. We have been requested by the OCIO to power down all Labnet servers and applications located in HH by 4:30pm, Thursday, April 28th to allow for the orderly shutdown of the HH Data Center on Friday morning. Services will be restored starting Saturday and finishing Tuesday at the latest.
This means that
1: home and research directories on carme.pcglabs.mun.ca, sedna.pcglabs.mun.ca, leda.pcglabs.mun.ca and arche.pcglabs.mun.ca will NOT be accessible 2: off campus ssh access on riemann.math.mun.ca, ganymede.pcglabs.mun.ca and garfield.cs.mun.ca will be down 3: web content located in home directories will not be available on www.cs.mun.ca 4: math compute servers located in HH will be powered down
The outage will also require powering down the servers located in the Math and Stats server room. In addition the network in the Math & Stats department will be down from 6pm Friday, April 29th to some time starting Saturday, April 30th.
This means that
1: DNS and DHCP service will be down in HH and Clarke Place 2: Printing in the math labs in HH and Clarke Place will not be available 3: computers in the math lab in HH will be powered down and not be able to boot
